Position Statement: This position contributes to the success of Coldwater Creek by strategically leading and directing the Human Resources mission in order to attract, retain and motivate high caliber employees. This includes developing dynamic human resources policies, objectives, and initiatives for recruiting, training, compensation, beneifts, employee relations, employee communications and organization development and ensuring all departments operate in compliance with current, applicable labor laws.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop the strategic direction and vision of the Human Resources department. Communicate the department vision and execution strategy with human resources directors. Ensure functional strategies are aligned with department and company goals and objectives.
Partner with exectutive team and company department heads to develop five year and ten year business plans for the company. Make recommendations on staffing needs and strategies to ensure needed resources to meet company goals and objectives.
Build, lead and develop a high performing team that is capable of providing company with human resources expertise.
Ensure exceptional customer service is provided to Coldwater Creek by all human resources functional areas.
Ensure departmental compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines, etc.
Assessment of procedures and technology solutions to improve human resources data management.
Evaluate company culture and provide recommendations on changes to accomplish company goals and objectives.
Develop and manage annual budgets for the division and perform periodic cost and productivity analyses.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A minimum of 15 years progressive human resource experience in a fast paced retail and/or consumer product environment preferred.
A minimum of 10 years management experience including hiring, coaching and developing a team with 5 years as a Vice President, Human Resources
Experience working with Human Resources Management Information Systems
Demonstrated experience in the creation and management of incentive compensation plans, regulatory compliance, benefits, organization development, training, recruiting, employee relations and strategic Human Resources planning
Demonstrated leadership skills in an executive capacity with the ability to exert influence and impact performance
Ability to lead, motivate and provide expertise to a team of human resources professionals and facilitate critical thinking
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage ambiguity in a dynamic work environment making rapid course corrections when business needs change
Bachelor Degree in Business with an emphasis in Human Resources; Maters degree preferred; PHR/SPHR certification a plus
