SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to lead and coordinate the daily job functions of the overall Patient Admission Services process and workload for a select number of teammates and assist the supervisor to ensure department goals and objectives are achieved, in alignment with DaVita’s Mission and Core Values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Able to support centers as assigned in accordance with the Patient Admission Services (PAS) service commitments, by processing all insurance additions, changes and applicable referrals and authorizations in order to establish and maintain both the patient registration record as well as the billing account ? Able to assist teammates in determining Coordination of Benefits as well as at risk party ? Audit Patient Admission Services work for quality and training purposes as well as trending purposes. ? Train and assist in developing teammates to meet the Patient Admission Services (PAS) service commitments. Work with other Seniors to coordinate the schedules of department trainers as department needs dictate ? Monitor and manage teammate’s workloads so as to enable entire team to meet Patient Admission Services (PAS) service commitments ? Review and approve all applicable system adjustments (Void + Re-enter, Rapid Coverage Updates, etc.) and system maintenance requests; educate as needed ? Review and audit all authorization logs verifying all involved systems are updated and documented appropriately. Results forwarded to Manager by specified time in required format ? Manage timely completion of monthly reports and forward data back to Patient Admission Services Project Analyst within specified time frame ? Act as first line contact for issue escalation with in the overall Patient Admission Services standard process ? Oversee entire Patient Admission Services Process to insure all insurance updates are completed timely so as to not hinder the monthly close ? Attend trainings and meetings as required ? Oversee teammates’ schedules, breaks, lunches, etc. addressing any outliers appropriately escalating to Manager as needed ? Communicate senior meeting updates to staff ? Performs special job-related projects as assigned (re-bills, refunds, Hipper Reports, Bankruptcies, etc.) ? Trains staff on specific department responsibilities, processes and procedures, and ongoing reimbursement changes ? With Supervisor, develops staff’s overall performance skills, technical knowledge, organizational and prioritization skills, and offers ideas for improvement ? Provides feedback for teammate performance evaluations and maintains confidentiality ? Ensures productivity of staff by monitoring progress of specific area job functions, reallocating workload as necessary, reviewing cash flows and evaluating trends ? May accompany Supervisor during interview process and maintains strictest confidentiality about the proceedings ? Reports disciplinary concerns to Supervisor/Manager and assists in disciplinary counseling as needed while maintaining the strictest confidentiality ? Assists other Reimbursement Operations personnel with questions and problems relating to the Patient Admission Service Department ? Evaluate and re-educate teammates work as identified through Quality Assurance audits ? Communicate policy changes and updates appropriately ? Communicate as needed with facilities and other customers in order to provide the highest level of customer service ? Responsible for interacting and working collaboratively with peers throughout the DaVita Village to foster the achievement of the DaVita Mission ? Understand and follow DaVita teammate handbook and safety and security policy and procedures ? Reports any injury on the workplace premises to a member of the management team or People Services immediately ? Travel as necessary ? Available to work overtime on occasion ? Other duties as assigned
