Scheduler - Project / Resource (VT)
Note: The location for this position is either Wallingford, CT or Waitsfield, VT, depending on the candidate’s preference. We will cover relocation expenses for the right candidate.The Project/Resource Scheduler is responsible for creation and maintenance of master project plan that summarizes critical deliverables including cash flow across all active projects and resources necessary to satisfy project commitments. Analyzes master plan data and regularly communicates and provides status reports to management.Responsibilities:Project & Resource Scheduling
Responsible for creating and maintaining master project plan that summarizes critical deliverables across all active projects and resources necessary to satisfy project commitments
Develop master project schedule template according to requirements and standard planning practices (establishing critical path, networks, predecessors, successors, durations, calendars, constraints, lead/lag relationships)
Analyze/check project progress to ensure compliance with the plan, apply appropriate control techniques and make recommendations after consulting functional team leaders
Prepare project reports including relative cost information for use by cross-functional reports
Analyze information to define problems and formulate recommendations pertaining to project planning matters
Leads development of Master Resource Planning and assignment of resource pool across multiple departmentsApplications and Project Management
Perform "what-if" analyses, rough cut capacity planning and schedule conflict resolutions
Assist in development of high level project and cash flow schedule during project planning stage
Schedule regular meetings with PM and project team leaders (Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Quality) to ensure accuracy of master project plan and resource schedule and progress made against planQuality
Participates in and supports special projects related to improvement initiatives
Recommends metrics of significance for measurement towards continuous improvement
Recommends enhancements to processes, and procedures surrounding project plans, reporting and controls
Lead and implement consistency across project plans and scheduling utilizing established policies and proceduresFinance
Develop and maintain monthly project cash flows for budgets and actual costs ensuring all project plans contain invoicing milestones
Support Finance in seeking methods in which to optimize use of existing applications or sourcing of new applications
Contributes to the development of new Crystal reports used to facilitate monthly cash flow reporting
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor degree with major in Operations Management or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
Critical Requirement: Expertise utilizing MS Project and firm understanding of scheduling complex efforts and resource schedules using MS Project and MS Office Suite
5+ years experience managing master schedules
5+ years experience working within MRPII, ERP or MES environments
3+ years experience in resource management
Solid planning/scheduling skills with ability to multitask and manage plans and schedules for multiple small to large projects in a cross-functional environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Thorough comprehension of payment milestones, major decision points, spacing of events, and events that tie activities
