Sales Assistant
The Sales Assistant supports a Vice President, Broker or Sales team by prospecting, talking with clients, processing trade tickets, interfacing with back office operations and performing various administrative duties. The Sales Assistant may report to more than one person however, he/she generally reports to a Broker, Senior Broker or Managing Director.
DUTIES:
Participate in prospecting for new clients. Develop good relationships with existing clients. If registered, may assist broker by taking client orders. Create and maintain client database.
Call clients with earnings information, conference call and road show information.
Mail prospectus', reports, and additional information packages to clients.
Perform general account maintenance.
Reconcile trades, generate trade confirmations and complete daily posting.
Organize and file all NASD & SEC records.
Organize and file account statements.
Perform various administrative duties including but not limited to: phone coverage, maintaining schedules, meeting and travel arrangements, completing expense reports, preparing mailings, creating and maintaining electronic and hard copy files, faxing and copying.
REQUIREMENTS
General knowledge of securities industry preferred, though not required.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to express ideas effectively and fluently. Ability to be discreet and courteous with clients.
Ability to organize time well, set proper priorities and handle multiple tasks.
Series 7 & 63 license preferred (must achieve upon hire).
Knowledge of spreadsheets, presentation software and the Internet.
Proficiency in MS Office preferred. Knowledge of Bloomberg a plus.
Bachelor's degree and internship experience in a financial services company or equivalent combination of education and experience.
