Performance Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Program Manager of RHORC this Assistant will perform a variety of clerical support duties requiring the use of independent judgment, including technical and fiscal related tasks in support of specific program requirements.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
a. Perform a wide variety of administrative duties, including budgeting, finance, scheduling, methods and procedures, staff organization, space, equipment and materials utilization, allocation and expenditure of funds, contract relations, personnel administration, educational research and development and community/student services.
b. Conduct program analysis to ensure compliance and fiscal accountability; provide data and recommendations to program administrator.
c. Gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare reports in graphic, pictorial, tabular, written and oral form.
d. Liaison with public agencies, private firms, consultants, speakers, District personnel, vendors, students, and the public to obtain and provide information and data related to program.
e. Apply statistical techniques, or with detailed instructions, statistical techniques in analyzing data.
f. Confer with appropriate personnel and/or organizations regarding program and initiate appropriate actions related to student and staff needs and program compliance.
g. Develop record systems; update and maintain program data, reports, and records.
h. Operate a variety of modern office equipment, including a computer and related software.
i. Perform a full range of simple to complex clerical functions in support of program.
j. Coordinate and assemble program information and create related reports and documents.
k. Coordinate, prepare, and distribute program and department material and follow through with necessary and required forms, documents, and reports.
l. Assist in ongoing program and curriculum review and revision process.
m. Coordinate the implementation of all curriculum and program changes. Review, edit, and update the curriculum database and maintain curriculum history.
n. Monitor department personnel assignments and ensure appropriate staffing according to program requirements and student needs.
o. Prepare reports related to faculty loading, class section distribution, curriculum changes, etc.
p. Assist with and independently prepare a variety of reports and documents as required.
q. Serve as program specialist and assist with program recruitment, compliance, and orientation.
r. Perform a wide variety of tasks at same or lower level classification as need may require.
s. May lead and direct the work of staff as assigned.
t. Perform other related duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Faculty/Educational Administrators complete the Equivalency Application only if you do not meet the minimum qualifications for the position you are applying to, and you wish to be considered.
Knowledge of:
1. Modern office equipment and procedures, including ability to use computers for word processing, reporting, record keeping, and other typical office/clerical tasks.
2. English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
3. Business math and simple statistics.
4. Principles of record keeping.
5. Composition and report writing.
6. Basic administrative practices.
Ability to:

Education and Experience:
18. Completion of at least one year college level course work in related subject areas.
19. Minimum of two years related experience analyzing and making recommendations for the resolution of problems of organization, procedure, budget, and personnel, or in a highly responsible technical/secretarial capacity, involving frequent customer contact.
20. Or, any combination of education and experience that would provide the required qualifications.
Conditions of Employment
This is a temporary, part-time position (60%) that is categorically funded by the Regional Health Occupations Resource Center (RHORC) grant. This position is contingent upon funding and may be modified, extended, or eliminated based upon changes from the funding source.

Salary Range
$1,959 (Step 1) - $2,384 (Step 5)

Pay Philosophy
Starting salaries for support staff positions begin at Step-1 of the salary range. The first salary advancement is at the end of the 6-month probationary period. Further advancements are on an annual basis.
Starting salaries for management and supervisory positions are based on a combination of education, qualifications and experience. Initial placement is within the starting salary range. Further advancements are based on initial salary placement.
Starting salaries for academic positions are based on a combination of education and experience. Initial placement is within the starting salary range. Further advancements are based on longevity and professional development. An additional annual stipend is offered for possession of an earned doctorate from an accredited institution.
Work Schedule
24 hours per week to be arranged between 8am-5pm hours. Specific days to be determined.
Benefits:
Benefits for part-time employees scheduled to work 50% to 74% of full-time, include pro-rated vacation and sick leave, and paid holidays for days scheduled to work only. Employees have the option to purchase benefits at a discounted premium and will participate in both the Public Employees Retirement System and Social Security.
