Primary Purpose

Rates specific policy coverages by inputting policy data; calculating premiums; utilizing relevant information in accordance with departmental and company guidelines and standards.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
(Other duties may be assigned)

•Rates commercial insurance policy premiums by referencing applications; following underwriter’s instructions; entering data in AQS rating software; storing rating worksheets to Report2Web; utilizing on-line Rater Manual, Technical Trainer instructions, and ISO software.
•Prepares commercial insurance policy documents by referencing applications; following underwriter and Technical Trainer instructions; entering data in AQS software; printing documents.
•Collects specific property rates (loss costs) by looking up existing loss costs; ordering loss costs if necessary; printing loss costs and reports.
•Completes property valuations by using information contained in building inspections and photos; determining number of stories, construction materials, and other building specific information; entering data into Boeckh software program; distributing results to underwriters.
•Generates various underwriting reports and sprinkler grading reports by accessing ISOTEL website.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Required:
•High School diploma or equivalent.
•Excellent data entry and typing skills (6,000+ kph).
•Computer software knowledge (basic word processing experience, ability to maintain spreadsheets, extensive experience with entering data into databases).
•Above average math skills (ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide at an advanced level by using a calculator).

Preferred:
•1-3 years of policy rating experience.
•1+ years of office experience.
