Radiology Transcriptionist

Department: Health Information ManagementSchedule: Full-timeShift: Day shiftHours: 11 am to 7 pm- Tuesday to SaturdayJob Details: Radiology Transcription experience is required.Level Criteria: Completion of a basic medical terminology/transcription course or equivalent job experience (minimum one year). Some knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Comfortable with computer. Keyboard skills of 50+ wpm. Previous experience in a health care setting with some exposure to medical terminology and transcription practices preferred. Accuracy minimum 95% after 60 days.Production Expectation: 60 to 100 lines per hour (after 3 mo orientation)Level 1 - Job Summary Transcribes and interprets medical dictation by physicians and other healthcare providers in order to document patient care, using both digital and tape sources and appropriate word processing application. Position provides for assisting the MLS in skill development. The work is repetitive or patterned, not requiring extensive depth or breadth of experience. This position requires significant assistance or supervision in interpreting unclear or inconsistent dictation and the use and location (internet) of accepted reference materials. Requires guidance in reaching quality and production goals.
