The proofreader proofs and edits complex business documents such as financial statements, presentations, proposals and other client
deliverables.
Position Responsibilities
Proofread documents for mathematical footing, format, consistency, grammar, syntax, spelling, accuracy, and adherence to Deloitte brand standards. Use proofreaders' marks to indicate recommended changes.
Consult with partners and managers to resolve footing and wording problems within documents. Suggest rewrites for improved readability and clarity.
Produce quality work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines as well as client expectations for quality and accuracy.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of Deloitte brand standards in order to offer accurate guidance for both clients and DCS professionals.
Work closely with other proofreaders and word processors to share best practices.
Position Requirements
Bachelor degree with concentration in English strongly preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
Knowledge of proofreaders' marks and a thorough knowledge of the rules of
grammar, syntax, spelling and punctuation required.
Competency in mathematics required for checking accuracy in financial reports and other documents.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in U.S. English.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills essential.
Able to follow directions, manage multiple tasks, and respond to urgent requests in a positive manner. Must work well in a team environment.
Must demonstrate commitment and be able to communicate professionally during stressful situations, maintaining composure and resolving problems effectively and positively.
