Although this role is primarily based and focused on the Stamford and metro NYC area, staff are also located in Brazil, Canada, and Chicago. Operations has a global reach, including support for multiple UBS businesses including UBS Wealth Management & UBS Global Asset Management.Operations in the Americas region is leading a number of important cross-functional programs and change management efforts that have significant impact on the logistics landscape within UBS and the Investment Bank. These include, but are not limited to, strategic redesign of our Global Payments infrastructure, Client Management initiatives, and our enhancement of our Risk and Control framework. Once regulatory approval is granted will accelerate integration of our recent acquisition of Banco Pactual in Brazil. Operations continues to pursue an aggressive change portfolio offering challenge and opportunity to our employees and we are actively seeking new talent to support our growth strategy.An opportunity has arisen in the Regional Management office to lead these functions through to their next stage of evolution. Working closely with program managers and other senior Operations managers and with IT, the role is responsible for operating the function’s support and control infrastructure such as: Researching, solving, documenting and implementing cross-product solutions and projects. Progress tracking and status reporting Issue and risk management Resource management and financial control Communications and document management Location and space planning and executionThe successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the success of our change programs by applying disciplined project and program management practices. The successful candidate will therefore need to demonstrate substantial exposure to major business change initiatives and be confident managing both at the detailed and ‘big picture’ levels. The candidate will need to have the stature to influence at senior levels in the organization and ‘make things happen’ on the ground. The successful candidate would ideally have experience working in an outsourced environment, ideally with previous Vendor Management experience.The role will report directly to the Americas Regional Head of Operations. The candidate will initially have limited management responsibilities with the potential for additional support staff as required. The shape and size of the team is expected to change as the management office is optimally positioned to support the Regional requirements in program delivery and portfolio management across Operations.This is a highly visible role, with exposure at Managing Director level in Operations and the business. As part of a flexible management team, there will be immediate opportunities to share best practices and experiences, and contribute beyond the immediate scope of the role.
