This position will participate in the sourcing process for various meeting categories, including but not limited to, hotels/conference centers, meeting venues, production/audio visual services, convention centers, destination management companies, and other elements of a typical Deloitte
meeting.
Activities will include:
Develop Meeting Requirements
Develop meeting requirements in coordination with the assigned Meeting Planner and internal client.
Request for Proposal
Identification of potential suppliers
Build RFP
Distribute RFP
Consolidate and evaluate RFPs
Conduct negotiations
Conduct site inspections as appropriate
Contracting
Work to drive acceptance of Deloitte master contract with our suppliers
Ensure independence and minimize exposure to the firm
Award contract(s)
Manage Spend
Create detailed forecast of proposed meeting spend
Track initial negotiated savings
Coordinate with meeting planners and NSG Operations Support Specialists to continually improve forecast accuracy
Supplier Relationship
Assist in the development and rollout of appropriate supplier
relationship strategies
Assist in the preparation for and participate in supplier review meetings
Continually expand detailed knowledge of properties
Continuous improvement efforts
This position works very closely with the internal Deloitte organization of the Global Conference Group, to fulfill their need for strategic sourcing data analysis, the competitive bidding process [RFI, RFP], evaluating competing suppliers and supply markets, supporting appropriate procurement strategies for various suppliers, negotiating contracts, understanding and managing client service sensitivities, and supporting supplier relationship management plans that include performance tracking and reporting. This process will require a high degree of collaboration between internal clients, meeting planners and NSG Operations Support Specialists. As the strategic meetings management process begins with sourcing the property, you will be responsible for coordinating the initial
collaboration between all parties.
Must possess a Bachelor's degree in business, finance, computer science or a related field; with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience, preferable in a contract negotiating/sourcing/procurement role. Specialized knowledge in organizing and managing all logistical aspects of high volume, complex, firm meetings is required. Must be a team player, have strong analytical skills, and be able to work under tight time constraints. Must be organized with excellent interpersonal skills - both oral and written. Must be able to work independently, with an ability to interact and build consensus among people. Strong knowledge/advanced skills in the Microsoft Suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.), combined with ability to participate in the e-enablement of meeting/procurement process required.
