KB Home is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Daily Units Processing Permit Coordinator position in our Atlanta, Georgia Division which will be moving to the Powers Ferry/Windy Hill area on Sept. 11. Only candidates local to the market place will be considered at this time. The Permits Coordinator is responsible for the application, tracking and obtaining of all permits required for new community start-up, as well as the building permitting on all houses sold. Duties of this position include: Request and track permit applications on a daily basis through authorizations from HNA/Starts Meetings Communicate effectively with local city governments, permit runners and inter-office departments to ensure timely openings of new communities Establish and maintain good builder relations with all permitting offices Distribute new county information regarding fee increases or changes in procedures to the Permits Supervisor or DUP Manager Use PC Mylar and AS400 to set up new communities and track all permitting on a daily basis. Interpret permitting issues that arise, and implement actions in a timely manner Manage invoicing and charges to subcontractors on a weekly and monthly.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience working with permits in the homebuilding industry is a plus. Customer Service experience, a steady work history and excellent computer skills required. The qualified candidate must be organized and detail-oriented. Must be willing to work overtime when necessary and be a motivated self-starter. Must have the ability to keep focused and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of AS400 and PC Mylar a plus! Must have exceptional working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Must be a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Only candidates local to Atlanta will be considered at this time.
