Patient Admissions Services Representative - (Berwyn) -

Job Title: Representative, PAS


Exemption: Non-exempt



Summary:


The purpose of this position is to ensure accurate and timely account set up and maintenance of all appropriate patient records in order to facilitate proper billing for all treatments and services; while providing service excellence to all customers and upholding all Patient Assurance Service commitments to ensure department goals and objectives are achieved, in alignment with DaVita’s Mission and Core Values.

Qualifications:


1.Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience


2.Must have good organizational skills with attention to detail


3.Solid interpersonal skills


4.Must be able to work in a team environment as well as independently


5.Excellent telephone and customer service skills helpful


6.Ability to comprehend and learn all applicable systems so as to complete assigned tasks


7.Ability complete work timely and accurately


8.Ability to organize diverse work load in order to achieve goals, flexibility is key, strong organization/prioritization skills


9.Willingness to learn new processes, innovative


10.Ability to work independently as well as within a team setting


11.Performance and behavior reflect the Mission and Core Values of DaVita


12.At least 1 year of experience in medical insurance verification or prior experience with in patient billing/admissions, especially in a large hospital environment, good working knowledge of most common medical insurance plans and the patient registration process helpful


13.Must be proficient in operating standard office machinery such as phones, copy machines, and fax machines



Essential Job Functions:


1.Able to support centers as assigned in accordance with the Patient Assurance Service Commitments for work list turnaround time, I.Q. Acknowledgement Time, and Missing Authorizations, by processing all insurance additions, changes and applicable referrals and authorizations in order to establish and maintain both the patient registration record as well as the billing account


2.Able to determine Coordination of Benefits as well as risk party


3.Able to interact with both internal/external customers appropriately in order to provide the highest level of customer service


4.Able to manage diverse work load and organize appropriately to insure flexibility in order to achieve Patient Assurance Service Commitments


5.Insure all insurance updates are completed timely so as to not hinder the monthly close


6.Reach out to facilities and other customers as necessary in order to provide the highest level of service excellence and establish a partnership to facilitate a more efficient process of communication


7.Travel as necessary


8.Available to work overtime on occasion


9.Other projects as assigned
