Patient Account Representative

Obtain and verify patient demographics and current insurance information. Assist Revenue Services with Medical Insurance billing process. Reviews and researches unpaid medical claims. Effectively communicates with patient on status of account. May notify patients with delinquent accounts and attempt to secure payment. May be asked to review ICD-9 CPT Coding.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of medical terminology, and Medicaid, TennCare and 3rd party commercial medical insurance billing procedures. Excellent customer service, communication and telephone skills required. One year medical billing experience required (2-3 years preferred). Knowledge of Word and Excel required. Knowledge of IDX System desirable. Must be able to pass data entry test at 90 kspm @ 90% accuracy and typing test at 35 wpm @ 90% accuracy. Experience with Appeals, Coding, Charge Entry and/or Insurance Follow-Up helpful.
