Parts Room Clerk

Maintains an accurate and properly documented spare parts inventory for all Plant equipment. Maintains and provides Preventive Maintenance work orders for all Plant equipment. Performs material procurement and generates purchase orders with external vendors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Maintains an accurate spare parts inventory in support of maintenance requirements.
•Controls all DPC related parts purchasing
•Maintains Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders and Work Histories.
•Generates all needed/required maintenance related reports weekly/monthly.
•Maintains Consignment Inventory, if applicable.
•Provides cost analysis for equipment parts weekly / monthly usage.
•Works closely with Maintenance Supervisor to insure that all reports and work orders are completed in a timely manner.
•Pick up and delivery of parts from vendors as required.
•Communicate with external vendors for material procurement, services and quotes.
•Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
•Computer literate with one year experience operating AS400, BPCS, DPC, EXCEL and WORD; or equivalent experience with Spare Parts Management systems.
•Two years experience in the spare parts inventory and control field or equivalent training and experience in a related field.
•Experience communicating and procuring materials and or services from external vendors.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively relate necessary information to applicable personnel and external vendors. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
