With an emphasis on customer self-choice sales, not all IKEA customers need assistance from Co-workers when shopping in our store. However, there is one situation when all IKEA customers need help from one of our Co-workers - at the checkouts. The goal of our Cashiers is to provide efficient, good service to make sure every customer and visitor leaves with a good impression of IKEA.. The Cashier is part of the Cash Team and reports to the Cash Manager. The checkout area is where customers’ perceptions, as well as their purchases, all come together. By providing fast, accurate and friendly service, Cashiers make sure the impression that customers leave with is a positive one.Your Responsibilities:
Keep checkout area clean and tidy.
Refill supplies and shopping bags.
Control cash box balances.
Provide visitors with a positive experience by creating a friendly impression at the checkouts.
Processes transactions quickly and efficiently.
Observe security procedures.
Reconcile balance and signs off on cash box.
Use available resources to secure training in friendly helpful service, security procedures, basics and proper ergonomics.
Contribute to an environment where the IKEA culture is strong and where the diversity of our co-workers and customers is valued and embraced.
Assume responsibility for projects and tasks as they occur.
REQUIREMENTS
MUST BE AVAILABLE SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS - MINIMUM OF THREE SHIFTS PER WEEK.Capabilities/Motivation:
Strong interest in home furnishings.
Will and ability for further development within IKEA.
Proactive and courteous customer approach.
Good communication skills.
Mathematical skills and aptitude.
Computer aptitude.
Desire to work with people in a high-paced retail environment.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. (25kg)
