http://www.marriottvacationclub.com“The only place where your opportunities never end”This position reports to one or more attorney(s) or senior manager(s) in the practice group. This position performs factual research, document drafting, analysis and organization, daily contact and interaction with the business team, and other tasks that require substantial knowledge of the subject matter. This position typically works under moderate supervision of a supervising attorney and/or senior manager.SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS [IN ADDITION TO SPECIFIC AREA RESPONSIBILITIES]:-Create and maintain paper and computer files of correspondence and documents.-Draft legal correspondence, documents, and memoranda for attorney or Director of Registrations review; once reviewed, revise, distribute, and transmit legal correspondence, documents and memoranda.-Independently research legal topics, summarize findings in writing, and file written summaries in appropriate paper and computer files.-Organize and purge multiple files following completion of project or resolution of matter, as appropriate. Actively contact other associates to obtain information and guidance regarding materials and information to be included in files.-Create, update, and maintain database, as appropriate.-Analyze various documents as required by attorney(s)and Director of Registrations.-Interact with outside entities, i.e., government agencies, corporations,and other law firms to gather information, documentation or data.-Consult with and direct files to Director of Registrations or attorney(s) when issues arise outside of the scope of his or her responsibility or experience.-Compile information and prepare documents for registration submittals, amendments and renewals.
-Assist with training new associates, as appropriate.-Assist in training of on-site personnel, sales administration personnel, and owner services personnel for new projects as required.
-Participate in Resort Development Teams as requested by attorney(s).-Work with New Owner Administration to provide approved sales documents to on-site sales personnel.
-Assist attorney(s) and Director of Registrations in gathering information and resolving issues with clients.-Perform other duties and special projects as requested by the attorney(s) or Director of Registrations; may involve handling confidential and sensitive material.
REQUIREMENTS
Three or more years of substantive and applicable experience as a paralegal in a law firm, corporate law department, or government agency working with regulatory compliance, real estate contracts, or other corporate transactional law (litigation exp does not apply); four-year college degree or equivalent qualifying work experience with an outstanding performance record; ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to manage multiple tasks well under pressure; level of expertise/ knowledge to manage tasks that have an impact on business; ability to structure moderately complex projects efficiently and set/adjust priorities effectively; attention to detail; sound judgment and use of discretion; diligence, dependability and strong work ethic; excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; knowledge of LEXIS/NEXIS helpful; certificate from a paralegal program helpful but not required.
