Operations Manager II - Education Finance

As an Operations Manager II you will manage three key areas within Loan Processing Operations with responsibility for 60 - 70 people and will report directly to the head of Operations and Servicing for CEF. Loan Processing Operations is responsible for executing and implementing processes to fund private unsecured and Federal insured student loan products in support of the CEF Marketing strategies. You will participate in long-term or strategic planning for the business unit, determining department structure and allocation of resources, and executing broad strategic planning for production / service improvement. In addition, you will coach and develop managers and operational staff, ensuring personnel continuity and backup.



Primary Functions: Assist on new product development / processing by helping to facilitate it through its life cycle and assist when difficulties are encountered Help foster a positive relationship with all CEF departments Manage overall headcount and coordinate resources to ensure a timely, accurate and quality implementation of complex projects which have a major impact on the success of the entire CEF organization Oversee process redesign efforts, along with other efficiency and risk related initiatives Interact and follow up with our IS department on system related production and enhancement deliverables Project management and executional oversight of all new product launches for CEF. This role ensures that we can process all new product launches on time and on budget.

This Manager will be responsible for expanding the responsibilities and scope of a performance management team. This includes issue tracking with process improvements, Audit, Compliance, & Risk coordination, and leadership in developing common tools such as performance dashboards, departmental scorecards, capacity models, cost models and change management (people related) tools across the department. Candidate should exhibit a strong ability to influence people and organizational changes across a large department through performance metrics.
REQUIREMENTS


Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with at least 7 years of Operations Management experience.

Previous experience in management of budgets, salary administration, and performance management

Project Management experience helpful.

Self-starter with strong analytical and communication skills.

Knowledge of the student loan servicing business a plus.

Process redesign and reengineering experience and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Strong interpersonal and coaching skills

Strong PC skills including Excel, Word and other Windows applications.
