The benefits of working at Capital include interesting work, exceptional colleagues, a comfortable workplace, competitive salaries and bonuses, and health and life benefits from day one.As Team Manager of the American Funds Meeting Planning Group, this position will focus on two major areas of responsibility: (1) managing the team environment and the 6-7 associates in the group, and (2) overseeing the meeting planning function and business processes. The group is responsible for the planning and executing of American Funds Group Adviser Forums, large-scale national meetings, and other business related meetings.Supervisory responsibilities include: Recruiting, training and development of team members, coaching, setting expectations, preparing and delivering performance evaluations, and providing ongoing direction and guidance. The Team Manager will model good judgment, integrity, and professionalism in the workplace and will foster teamwork, open communication, and fiscal responsibility.Overseeing the meeting planning function and business processes includes: Acting as lead planner on 4-5 meetings per year to maintain skills, develop relationships, and remain abreast of changes and challenges that impact the team. Lead planner responsibilities include coordination of all meeting details, site selection, contract negotiations, preparation of materials, and meeting attendance. Additionally the Team Manager will be responsible for working collaboratively to manage the team workflow, enhance processes, and improve overall service delivered to external and internal contacts.Qualifications
Hiring Criteria:Minimum of two years supervisory experience
Four years or more of corporate/event planning experience
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
Strong time management skills, highly organized, attentive to details
Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, corporate environment
Committed to providing superior service
Strong computer skills
Schedule flexibility
