We are currently seeking individuals to serve as Meeting Planners for our healthcare and trade divisions. The position is a member of our Meetings and Events Department and reports to the department manager. The Meeting Planner is primarily responsible for planning, organizing, and executing all meetings and trade shows. Duties include:
research meeting sites;
working with clients to define meeting objectives and marketing strategies;
create and manage meeting budgets and timelines;
negotiate hotel contracts;
identify and contact outside resources vendors for audio/visual, production, drayage, decoration and transportation services;
preparing hotel resume and event orders to include room set-ups, staging, and food and beverage.
Trade show planners will be required to sell and manage both exhibits and sponsorships. Healthcare planers will be required to manage abstract processing and scientific educational sessions.
Individuals must be available to manage multi-venue meetings, including convention centers; travel on-site to manage meeting logistics; set assignments; supervise meeting support staff as appropriate and conduct post-meeting reviews. Must be an enthusiastic and dedicated, professional with a strong work ethic and high standard of excellence.
REQUIREMENTS
Successful candidates will have a minimum of three years of meeting planning experience, a degree in Hospitality Management or related field; competency in contract negotiations and meeting budget preparation; effective presentation, organizational, and communication skills; and the ability to effectively use all Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint. Certification in meeting planning a plus, but not required
