MEDICAL RECORDS CODERResponsibilities include coding and abstracting medical records and coding hospital bills for Medicare, Medicaid and other insurance. Requires 3-5 yrs. impatient and outpatient coding exp; knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy h; understanding of computerized groupers, DRGs and optimization; and CCS, CCS-P, CPC or CPC-H certification (RHIT or RHIA pref'd).
