$5.00/HOUR PREMIUM APPLIED TO ALL PAID HOURS

JOB SUMMARY: Assesses patient needs and plans, organizes, performs and evaluates nursing activities to meet those needs. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specified age range on their assigned nursing unit.

Works under the direction of the assigned Nurse Manager.

Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Requires the ability to care for adult and pediatric med/surg patients. Must possess flexibility to potentially change patient assignments and float between adult and pediatric units on a 4 hour basis.

This position requires the flexibility and experience to float to any of the following units: BP5, BP6, BP7, BP8, AGP4, AGP5, CHIU, CH2, CH3, ISCU, NICU, ETU.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Graduated from an approved School of Nursing and currently licensed in Pennsylvania or eligible to be licensed required.

Must be BLS certified and completed Trauma Nurse course within one year of assignment. Must also have successfully completed I.V. Therapy training by I.V. team.

Minimum of six months of prior medical/surgical experience required. Additional experience preferred.

Adult and pediatric dual skill base required upon completion of orientation.

Coverage to Children's 2, 3, NICU and adult units providing specialized, and many times, post surgical care to support the needs of newborns to 18 year-old patients with exposure to Pediatric Hematology Oncology needs through a collaborative team of the physicians, nursing personnel and other department. Development and implementation of nursing care plans which are consistent with the medical plans of care are done taking into consideration the physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs of the individual child and his/her family while providing provide and maintain a safe environment for the patient.
