Medical Coding Manager

Great opportunity for the right person! This person is a key player in the success of the organization. Your responsibilities will include ongoing daily management of the coding process, monitoring of the quality, productivity and turn around time of the coding staff, management of the DNFB and monitoring of the Case Mix Index. Participation on Case Mix, Finance and Revenue Cycle Management Committees and other special projects. This team player will communicate with all levels of management and serve as the liaison between the HIM Department and Finance, Medical Staff and other departments within the organization.
REQUIREMENTS
Ideal candidates should be an RHIA, RHIT or CCS with a minimum of five years of coding management experience including Inpatient and Outpatient Coding, monitoring of coding work assignment and workflow in an electronic environment, DNFB management and DRG/APC reimbursement methodologies. Must have solid verbal and written communication skills to support daily contact with the CFO, HIM Director, Medical staff and hospital leadership. The candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of the Coding/Billing function and revenue cycle management. Knowledge of HIM specific software and reporting tools as it relates to coding quality, turn around time and case mix reporting. Previous experience with Clinical Documentation Programs is a big plus!
