Manager, Special Events

Recruit, train and manage community volunteer committees in order to implement gala and Daffodil Days. Manage internal and external constituent relationships relating to gala and Daffodil Days. Serve as relationship manager for gala vendors, Daffodil Days corporate representatives and team member for donors, prospects and sponsors as appropriate. Supervise dedicated seasonal gala staff assistant. Regularly meet with and manage volunteers to determine plans of action for each assigned event(s). Identify and nurture resources from which to recruit volunteers. Solicit assistance from current volunteers to recruit others and to broaden relationships within assigned company constituents. Ensure that sufficient training opportunities are available for new and existing volunteer team members. Train and mentor gala staff assistant assuring competence in all event systems and databases. Understand and ensure compliance with all ACS and community policies, procedures and regulations. Manage select aspects of gala implementation including managing volunteer committees and subcommittees, securing and managing key vendors and collaborating with other departments to produce collateral.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in office/program management, business administration, health or income development related field. Effective verbal, writing and listening skills. Solid project management skills. Ability to build alliances with other organizations and diverse communities. Ability to work independently with minimum direction or structure. Ability to complete multiple tasks and responsibilities. Possess a working knowledge of standard office computer applications and ability to utilize customized in-house applications. Strong computer and database management skills. Solid leadership and training skills. Proven relationship building, persuasion and influence skills. Strong analytical skills. Ability to travel by car or plane to client and employee locations for meetings, trainings, etc.
