What We’re Looking For:Crystal Stairs is seeking a Mailroom Assistant II to sort, deliver, and pick-up inter-office mail, and packages according to established time frames and service standards. Assist with receiving and logging incoming items from the U.S. Postal Service, Federal Express/DHL such as letters and packages, including certified, registered, and return receipt. Coordinate special messenger services when necessary. Order and maintain supplies for the postage meters as well as maintaining and printing out daily and monthly postage reports. Train other employees in the safe and efficient operation of postage machines and mailroom procedures and assist supervisor with the development and maintenance of mailroom procedures. Provide support to helpdesk requests and troubleshoot technical problems when postage machine is not functioning properly and initiate service calls.Other key duties include resolving customer complaints related to discrepancies in mail services such as lost mail, mis-routed mail, returned mail, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES YOU SHOULD POSSESS:•High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
•U.S. Postal Service knowledge or experience is required.
•Valid Class “C” California Drivers License.
•Physical agility and strength to regularly lift and/or carry mail or materials and the ability to lift 40 lbs.
•Minimum of 3 years demonstrated knowledge and experience in a related functional area (mailroom operations) with 300+ employees and with mail handling equipment such as Pitney Bowes.•Minimum 2 years demonstrated customer service skills and tact when dealing with internal customers.
•Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required for the generation of reports, internal and external correspondence, and effective communication via e-mail.
•Professional and pleasant telephone manners and voice.
•Ability to read and understand complex technical manuals.
•Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of staff.
•Good written and oral communication skills.
•Significant walking and standing for long periods of time.
