Legal ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Purpose:
Our client, a large electronics company is looking for a Legal Administrative Assistant.

On a day to day basis, this person will be responsible for the following duties listed below:

Reports to the Assistant General Counsel. Performs administrative and clerical duties for individuals in the legal department and corporate planning. Develops and maintains filing systems. Prepares letters, reports and other materials; files documents with appropriate entities in accordance with legal requirements. Acts as an information source on organization policies and procedures. Screens calls and takes messages. Schedules appointments and may make travel arrangements.

Essential Duties

-Provides legal and corporate planning with administrative and secretarial support.
-Prepares, transcribes, files, and maintains legal documents and reports.
-Maintains appointments
-Arranges and coordinates all business travel.
-Handles all confidential material relevant to company operations.
-Screens phone calls and incoming mail.
-May conduct various analytical special projects for Board and senior management meetings.
-Coordinates legal department meetings.
-Serves as a contact to people inside and outside the company.
-Collaborates with various staff and departments in preparing special projects.

Education and Work Experience:
Associate degree in business or secretarial science (two year program). Usually requires a minimum of three to five years of legal administrative experience with two to three years of secretarial experience in the legal area.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Good knowledge of administrative practices and procedures. Familiar with legal terminology. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must have working knowledge of presentation and spreadsheet software. Able to handle sensitive, moderately complex, confidential information. Detail oriented.
