FIRST REVIEW: September 22, 2006
CLOSING DATE: All positions are open until filled.POSITION SUMMARY:This position reports to and provides administrative support for the Division Director and Program Managers and helps coordinate the administrative functions of the Juvenile Justice Service Division. The successful candidate will perform an important role in one of the premier juvenile justice systems in the nation and will interact closely with juvenile probation officers, juvenile court directors, juvenile judges, and treatment service providers. This position requires the use of efficient administrative talents while working in an environment dedicated to enhancing public safety and turning around the lives of troubled youth.
This position coordinates division staff workflow; schedules and handles logistics for meetings; composes and prepares correspondence; creates and maintains administrative and budget files; regularly interacts with key juvenile justice leaders; assists in the development of monthly status reports; maintains and updates division equipment inventory; represents the Division Director and Program Managers at various functions, and handles special assignments as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Minimum requirements for this position include a HS diploma or GED equivalent and 4 years experience in a full function office. Additional required skills include excellent organization; a professional attitude and demeanor; expertise in the use of WORD, EXCEL and POWERPOINT software; the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team; good telephone communications skills; and the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have familiarity of the juvenile justice system and prior supervisory experience in an office environment.
SELECTION PROCESS:Positions may take 4-6 weeks to fill. Only applicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to interview. The Selection Process may include testing of basic computer skills and/or a writing test. Position is not covered by the State Merit System. Finalists must undergo a background check. This is a non-exempt level position and is open for internal and external recruitment. This recruitment is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
