JOB SHARE - ADMINISTRATIVE AIDE – POLICE JOB SHARE

RECRUITMENT DATES August 28, 2006 – September 15, 2006.

SALARY $16.04 - $23.28 hourly / $16,681 - $24,211 annualized.

EXPERIENCE Requires a bachelor's degree in business management, public or business administration, or related field or four years of experience performing advanced administrative support duties. Experience with Microsft Office products is essential, preferably Excel. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.

DUTIES Provides paraprofessional administrative and clerical support to an administrative staff. Maintains bureau databases, provides statistical reports and related visual aids, prepares correspondence, completes purchase requests, and assists with special projects to improve operations. Also schedules meetings and takes meeting minutes. Currently there is one job share vacancy in the Police Department.

HOURS for this position are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday the first week and Thursday, Friday the second week at eight hours a day for a total of 40 hours per pay period.

BENEFITS Job Share employees are eligible for medical and dental insurance, personal leave, education leave, and sick leave, vacation, holidays, deferred compensation, and other related benefits on a prorated basis.

ALSO REQUIRED Some positions in this classification require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess an appropriate valid Arizona driver's license, possess personal insurance coverage, and have an acceptable driving record. Positions in the Police Department must meet the polygraph and background standards that are appropriate to non-sworn positions.

RESIDENCE Maricopa County residency is required within 24 months after the date of hire and must be maintained.
