We currently have an immediate need for a Human Resources Manager within our Tolland, CT Manufacturing Facility.
Responsible for directing and administering Human Resource activities and programs for the Tolland manufacturing facility, as well as additional print center locations; providing comprehensive and employment support; coordinating and controlling activities associated with compensation, employee relations, benefits, affirmative action and safety/environment to encourage high level of morale and productivity. Initiates action, formulates and recommends policies and improved procedures relating to such activities.
Job Functions Include:
•Plans and conducts activities involved in the recruiting, interviewing, and evaluation of job applicants. Recommends qualified individuals to fill job openings, provide staff assistance and guidance in the orientation of new employees.
•Provides data and recommendations regarding the updating of plant non-exempt wage structures, coordinates the administration of employee evaluation and wage review programs.
•Provides staff assistance in the installation and coordination of skills training projects, responsible for the administration of personnel development programs.
•Provide staff assistance and guidance in the administration of employee benefits.
•Assists Environmental Affairs Coordinator in plant ensuring proper compliance to guidelines, maintaining chemical inventory, proper labeling and employee training and compiling necessary reports on permitting and reporting to the State.
•Recommends changes to conditions or practices which could adversely affect employee health and welfare of which violate Company policy, OSHA, community Right-to-Know regulations or State and Federal laws.
•Administers and coordinates all plant safety programs; sees that medical aid services are available to fulfill needs of the plant and administers Workers' Compensation Program.
•Provides staff assistance in the administration of recreational activities and other programs aimed at maintaining employee interest, participation and morale.
•Counsels with and advises supervision regarding the handling of personnel problems and complaints.
•Keeps Plant Manager advised on significant situations and trends through periodic reviews.
•Interprets and monitors application of Company/Plant policies and procedures ensuring consistent application. Formulates and recommends policy and procedure changes when necessary.
•Directs and coordinates the maintenance of adequate personnel records and statistics. Responsible for the compiling and issuing of periodic and special reports as required.
•Maintains cooperative relationships with local employment service offices and employee relations personnel of local business firms.
•Keeps appraised of union organizing and collective bargaining activities.
•Compiles and recommends operating budgets for employee relations and safety compliance activities; assists in the administration of approved expenses.
•Consults and coordinates with Corporate Headquarters in matters involving overall employee relations policies and practices.
•Acts as Equal Employment Opportunity Administrator for the Plant.

REQUIREMENTS
Job Specifications:
•College degree preferably in Human Resources or equivalent in experience.
•Prior experience in a manufacturing setting.
•PHR or SPHR certifications are a plus.
•Requires 4-7 years strong Human Resource generalist experience with solid background in employee relations, staffing performance management, compensation, benefits, safety and employment law.
•Ability to deal effectively with persons of varying backgrounds and personalities.
•Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
