Human Resources Coordinator & Human Resources Clerk

The New York Blood Center is the nation’s premier independent blood collection and distribution organization. We have two challenging full time opportunities in our Westbury Human Resources office.
REQUIREMENTS
Human Resources Coordinator:
The selected candidate will assist the Department’s management team with staffing and employee/labor relations functions. The candidate will respond to employee questions and inquiries regarding NYBC Policies and Procedures as well as HR Policies; maintaining a high quality of customer service excellence. Responsibilities will also include monitoring the accuracy and timeliness of input to our HRIS system as well as creating HR Reports as needed. The Coordinator will also assist in the recruitment function for assigned open positions; manage the employee personal/sick time accruals and tracking as well as monitor the NYBC Tuition Reimbursement Program. Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred. Three to five years experience in Human Resources. Computer skills including Microsoft Office; HRIS knowledge; Ceridian experience a plus. Exceptional customer service and communication skills required.

Human Resources Clerk:
The candidate we seek will support the Human Resources function by providing customer support services to employees, applicants and colleagues. They will provide clerical support by greeting visitors, directing them to the proper HR personnel for assistance; answering phone calls and directing calls appropriately or providing information directly, relaying messages accurately and timely. Collects, sorts and distributes mail to HR Staff; maintains operation of office equipment by ordering supplies and placing service calls when necessary; maintains department office supplies. Assists in distributing employee discount information; assists benefits function by assembling benefit orientation packages, mailing pension applications and information, distributing benefits information packages to sites and assisting with benefit plan audits, mailings and annual open enrollment. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree preferred. Two to three years office experience; HR experience a plus. Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and Outlook); HRIS exp. a plus. Excellent customer service, communication and data entry skills required.
