General Accounting Specialist

If so, then we would like you to consider joining our team.PPG Industries, a $10 billion leading producer of coatings, glass, chemicals, and fiberglass is seeking talented people for a General Accounting Specialist position.This position provides support to the PPG Auto Glass Auto Glass Business by analyzing and processing data into journal entry form, and otherwise monitoring transactions with relevant exposure for reporting purposes, including the reconciliation of inventory, truckload shipments, billing and payments. The position requires two years of related accounting experience – a two year business degree in accounting is preferred. Success Factors include Focus on Results, Drive Change, Understand Market and Customer Perspective, Business Knowledge, Product and Service Knowledge, Mobilize Resources, Take Responsibility, Influence Decisions and Actions and Solve Problems.Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and resolve problems through effective interaction with service providers, locations and other PPG persons. The candidate will work in an office environment, with occasional trips to the field to gain a better business perspective. Overtime will be required during month-end closings, audits, and when circumstances warrant. Travel will be minimal.Only candidates from Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas will be considered. Relocation not included. Pre-employment testing is required. Minimum salary $36,000.
