Entry Level Data Analyst

Purpose: Our client, located in Frankfort, Kentucky, is in need of an entry level data analyst to work on their KOMS (Kentucky Offender Management System) project. This project is for the Kentucky Department of Corrections. The main work will be mapping data from legacy IMS/DB2 databases to a new DB2 UDB database. Some MS SQL Server skills are desired. Data mapping is definitely a task involved. There will be no mining, but perhaps some scrubbing.

Desired skills include, but are not limited to facility with MS Office Suite, primary ability to be self-directed in finding answers and tracing data requirement issues. Demonstrated ability to be well organized in documenting processes and working on a project team. Good team coordination and communication skills.

This contract will last until the end of January 2007, with the possibility of being extended until April 2007 or even go permanent. The client requires all candidates to be drug and background checked.

Also, for the first 5 weeks of the contract (give or take a few), the candidate will be required to be on site in Frankfort, Kentucky 40 hours per week. After this, around 50% of the position can be done telecommuting, if the candidate has a laptop.
