JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for employee relations support to managers and employees and for providing support and interface for HRIS activities. Specific responsibilities include:

50% - Performs employee relations, working independently with managers and individual contributors. Investigates complaints, tracks status of cases, and provides advice for complaint resolution and/or disciplinary cases. Counsels managers and employees on Human Resources policy issues and issues requiring analysis of federal and state employment law; provides assistance in resolving issues.

30% - Administers all exempt, non-exempt, and union employee leaves.

10% - Conducts research on various HR and legal issues using a variety of resources, including on-line sources.

10% - Provides support for HRIS activities such as processing new user access requests, managing security of network and administration folders, establishing and maintaining SOX controls, and supporting salary administration.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and six years' experience in Human Resources. Experience must include three years' direct responsibility in employee relations, specifically handling all types of employee leave administration and workplace investigations. Experience within a unionized environment and PHR certification preferred. Must demonstrate understanding of state and federal employment/labor laws, regulations, and requirements. Also requires ability to utilize on-line resources to conduct research, strong analytical and statistical skills, familiarity with HR systems, and intermediate level skill with Microsoft Office. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills to effectively interface will all levels of employees, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
