Description:
Position is responsible for the development, design, operation and administration of all Employee Compensation and Executive Compensation/Benefits plans, programs and arrangements. Assures effective alignment of compensation programs and approaches to company goals, objectives and strategies. Manages both executive compensation and employee compensation staffs. 1. Manages the development, design, implementation and administration of compensation, executive compensation and executive benefit plans: (short and long term plans, non-qualified deferred programs, equity (options, restricted, deferred), equalization/restoration plans, etc.) 2. Develops solutions and new approaches to address employee compensation and executive compensation/benefits issues 3. Ensures that all compensation plans comply with applicable IRS, SEC, FASB and DOL requirements; directs the preparation of required compliance reports. Make recommendations with respect to tax and accounting consequences of executive compensation. 4. Develops communication plans and presentations related to new and existing employee and executive compensation plans and processes 5. Evaluates executive positions to ensure consistent and equitable establishment of job worth 6. Conducts, analyzes and participates in executive salary surveys to price jobs in local and national labor markets and to assist in determining competitive trends 7. Provides all support for Compensation Committee decisions (from data analysis to recommendation and implementation) including meeting documentation, presentations, and proxy disclosure 8. Conducts ad-hoc studies, analyses and evaluations to meet specific business needs 9. Consults with and provides direction, guidance and resolution to HR staff and managers on employee and executive compensation and benefit issues 10. Coordinates with Benefits, HRIS and IT staffs to ensure that the needed level of reporting and record keeping is developed and maintained. 11. Keeps apprised of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations in order to ensure compliance
Requirements:
The qualifications for this position include a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, or equivalency; 10 - 15 years of progressive responsibility in compensation, including 5+ years of supervisory experience and executive compensation and executive benefits. An applicable advanced degree is preferred. • Extensive practical knowledge of a wide variety of compensation techniques, theories, programs and plans including cash compensation, merit programs, incentive/variable compensation, equity programs, etc. Must possess strategic and tactical experience with the analysis, development, budgeting, implementation and administration of all areas of Employee and Executive Compensation. Industry experience within Banking or Financial Services is highly preferred. Must possess extensive knowledge of SEC, IRS and FASB rules applicable to executive compensation. A complete grasp of all tax, accounting and regulatory issues that pertain to executive compensation is required. A thorough understanding of corporate financial measures and metrics as well as the linkage of these measures to executive compensation is essential. • Requires effective problem-solving, decision making and client support skills; demonstrated innovation in developing executive compensation solutions to meet business challenges; and effectiveness in leading or participating in change initiatives at various organizational levels. • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) are required in order to analyze data and prepare for presentations. Experience with financial analysis including economic analysis, cost/benefit analysis or other actuarial or project analysis exposure is a plus. Demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication - ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization, including CEO and members of the board. Must be equally comfortable as staff manager or strong individual contributor. Professional certification (i.e., CCP) is highly desired.
