Summary of Position:



To create all new Par and Non Par providers and to maintain accurate data of all providers in the PULSE database.



Responsibilities:
Research and verify requests for the creation of non-par provider records from a variety of sources.
Assist in the clean up of the current provider databases, including verifying and correcting typographical errors and adding missing information such as provider specialties.
Enter new providers into the system and maintains provider data in Pulse on an ongoing basis.
Act as a liaison with providers and internal departments to update provider information.
Resolve provider database issues such as addresses, fee schedules, etc. and makes corrections as needed.
Communicate effectively with other departments within Oxford and externally with providers who require precise database information in order to ensure claims are paid correctly.
Verify billing addresses and updates, tax IDs and group affiliation corrections and/or general provider database clean up.
Meet established productivity and quality standards with little or no supervision.
Take responsibility and ownership for assignments and projects in a timely and accurate manner.
Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:


Experience with healthcare systems (database) is required.


Previous experience in handling customer phone inquiries is beneficial.


Adept at utilizing multiple claims screens to compare provider data already in the system with that of the request.


Previous knowledge/familiarity of medical terminology and managed health care is beneficial.


Knowledge of Word and Excel.


Knowledge of healthcare claims is preferred.


High school diploma required.


Detail oriented and excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Good interpersonal and organizational skills along with critical thinking and decision-making skills.


Ability to learn, understand and grow through continuous coaching and training.


Capable of handling multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
