Position Summary
The Corporate Paralegal works with the Legal Department staff on all legal matters as assigned by the General Counsel and other operations counsel. The Corporate Paralegal is a person qualified through education, training or work experience to perform the assigned tasks that require knowledge of and experiences with concepts and objectives customarily, but not exclusively, performed by a paralegal. The position reports directly to General Counsel.
REQUIREMENTS
QualificationsEducation:
A four-year college degree. A certificate from ABA-approved paralegal school a plus.Experience: At least 4 years experience in a corporate legal department or law firm environment. Previous corporate healthcare experience a plus.Additional Requirements: Must be detail-oriented, possess excellent organizational and communication skills, work well under pressure, and have the ability to work independently. Must have knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheet software programs.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Utilization and maintenance of contract data base.
2. Preparation of renewal contracts for facilities and corporate office.
3. Assist and coordinate Referral Source Transaction Audit.
4. Assist with corporate acquisitions as needed.
5. Other duties as assigned.Note: The essential job functions of this position are not limited to the duties listed above.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES1. Knowledge of facility and corporate policies and procedures.
2. Knowledge of computer and various software packages.
3. Skill in organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
4. Effective oral and written communication skills.
5. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
6. Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.
7. Ability to use good judgment and to maintain confidentiality of information.
8. Ability to work as a team player.
9. Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience and dedication.
10. Ability to accept direction and adhere to policies and procedures.
11. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
12. Ability to meet corporate deadlines.
13. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.Minimal travel may be required.Ardent is an EOE.
