Job DescriptionNature and Scope of PositionParticipates in the pre-award and post-award phases of contracts. Reviews, negotiates, and administers business aspects, terms, conditions and risk mitigation of client contracts and subcontracts for business line/unit, branch office, and/or program office. Analyzes requests for proposal (RFPs) and contract terms to assess business risks, develop pricing strategy, and support contract compliance efforts. Identifies and negotiates contract changes with clients. Facilitates adherence to company internal controls, SOX Act and best business practices.Duties and Responsibilities1. Negotiates contract terms, pricing, change orders, and final settlements with clients.2. Advises Project Managers (PM) in scope and administrative procedures required to achieve full contractual compliance.3. Develops cost/pricing data for government and commercial contracts.4. Analyzes requests for proposals (RFPs) and contract terms and apprises senior management of potential business risk. Offers possible methods of remedy, including potential clarifications for the bid/proposal submittal.5. Develops special contract language and custom agreements to meet special project needs.6. Prepares/reviews Insurance/Bond request.7. Assists in the preparation of and participates in various managements review processes providing contractual expertise to the review process.8. Interacts and communicates with government and commercial clients to ensure contract compliance.9. Fosters PM awareness, and use of, the Shaw Matrix, Project Risk Committee (PRC), Risk Mitigation Plans (RMP) and the Job Initiation Form (JIF)ComplexityMust be able to identify areas of potential risks to corporation (warranties, insurance, indemnification) and to enforce provisions of contract. Recommends pricing strategy and contract terms to management required to complete client negotiations. Must be able to operate independently and also contribute to a team.ImpactAllocation and/or mitigation of risk through contract terms negotiation is critical to the company´s overall risk management program. Proposal pricing decisions and recommendations have influence on profitability of project.
