Reports to: Plant ManagerJob Summary:
A Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible to work within the plant organization to directly apply a wide range of basic and advanced Lean manufacturing tools in order to achieve world class manufacturing processes. Application of these methods on complex manufacturing processes and business practices in a team environment will be necessary to improve the overall product and process.Responsibilities to Include:
Learn, apply and teach the fundamentals of Lean in both shop floor and office settings.
Help develop and support plans to implement Lean across Integrated Supply Chain organization (Operations, Manufacturing and Procurement).
Assist in development and execution of Plant Lean Implementation Plans and BAPs including identification of product families, schedule, and metric reporting.
Track Lean project progress to plan, take appropriate actions to ensure schedule compliance and metric deliverables.
Develop plant Lean competencies including Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Visual Controls, Materials / Tools at Point-of-Use, SMED (setup reduction), Flow, Kanban, Cell Layout, Waste Reduction, supplier interface and development.
Identify critical paths and highest impact areas for Lean project selection.
Provide coordination and training for Lean Kaizens.A Textron Company
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in a Technical field preferred
Associate's degree and additional applicable working experience may qualify in lieu of 4 year degree.Position Requirements:
Extensive experience (at least 5 years) in procurement, manufacturing operations or related area, with demonstrated track record of increasing responsibilities.
Experience in lean manufacturing and/or other lean operations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate to the workforce and at the executive level.
Working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint and advanced knowledge of Excel, and Visual Basic.
PLC experience preferred.
Strong analytical skills with problem solving and team building.
Demonstrated project execution.
Familiar with SPC and DOE.License and Certification Requirements:
Lean Certification from recognized authority preferred.
Certified Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
