This position contributes to the agency’s mission by participating as a team member, utilizing customer service skills for information-referral and advocacy for the collective needs of individuals with disabilities.•Facilitates self-advocacy and independent living philosophy for consumers with disabilities through life skills training instruction.•Provides information to consumers for needed services through available community agency supports.•Explores options and eligibility for state or federal benefits, supports the application process for financial benefits and/or funding.

REQUIREMENTS
Required:
•High school diploma or GED
•Knowledge of basic customer service skills
•Knowledge of principles and techniques of training and methods of implementing programs.
•General knowledge of ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), HCBS Waivers and individual/systems advocacy for people with all disabilities.
•General knowledge of funding mechanisms, policies and procedures related to community and state operated service delivery programs.
•Ability to demonstrate good writing and oral skills.
•Ability to demonstrate computer knowledge of Microsoft Access, Excel and Word and Internet usage.
•Ability to conduct training curriculum to individuals and groups as directed.
•Ability to plan and understand the impact of critical thinking skills for problem solving.
•Ability to interact as a team player with co-workers, the general public and community agencies.
Preferred:
•College degree
