Overview: The Compensation Department of Baker Hughes has an opening for a Compensation Manager located at 3900 Essex Lane, Houston, Texas. Provide support to the Corporate Compensation Team on global compensation plans/programs for Baker Hughes, Inc.: o Compensation programs - design and administration § Base pay § Annual incentive plans § Long-Term incentive plans o Executive compensation programs - design and administration o Salary structure development and implementation o Annual salary review process o Position evaluation and position descriptions/job capsules o Employee Stock Purchase Plan - design and administration - Collaborates with the Global Compensation Director on compensation philosophy, structure, and policies to ensure consistency and equity in compensation decisions that support the Company's goal of attracting, rewarding, and retaining top talent. - Works with BHI Compensation Team (division compensation leaders) to ensure enterprise consistency. - Assists the Global Compensation Director in preparation of materials for the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors. - Prepares compensation communications for company distribution. - Work with international staff in regards to global compensation projects such as market analysis and salary structure development. - Keeps current on legislative and regulatory issues that affect compensation.Posted: 6/21/2006

REQUIREMENTS
- Strong analytical skills. - Strong tax and compliance knowledge related to compensation plans. - Working knowledge of finance and accounting practices, especially as related to compensation plans. - Strong commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team environment. - Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with all levels within the Company. - Self-starter and a creative thinker. - Technological proficiency in all MS Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint. - Knowledge of all legal and compliance issues in the compensation discipline.
