Cash Applications Representative
Responsible for timely and accurate postings of payments,
contractuals, and adjustments to HealthServices NW accounts receivable.
Key accountabilities include:High volume accurate data entry posting insurance payments and adjustments for 7 - 8 facilitiesIdentify correct amounts for the posting of payments,
contractuals, and adjustmentsAccurate and timely posting of
payments, contractuals and adjustments received in the lockbox,
facility deposits, electronic remittances, or other payment
courses.Ability to create and retrieve reports from internal
systems to verify posting accuracyIdentify, create, and submit
reports as required or directed by managementResearch
EOBs/remittances/vouchers to investigate payments that do not include
patient or account informationAccurate and timely posting of
adjustments submitted by other departments within the companyEnsure
batch information is disseminated, filed, and maintained for
retentionMaintain confidentiality of all patient demographics,
medical and financial information at all times. Maintain
confidentiality of all company and client information. Ensure proper
handling and disposal of confidential documents and adhere to all HIPAA
rules and regulations
REQUIREMENTS
ONE YEAR EXPERIENCE IN A MEDICAL BILLING OFFICE REQUIRED.
EXPERIENCE WITH EOB'S, BILLING AND/OR COLLECTIONS
PREFERREDBasic knowledge of ICD-9/CPT coding, medical
terminology, federal and state medical programs, billing procedures
preferredBasic word processing skills and spreadsheets
requiredAbility to type 40 wpm with five or less errors
preferredAbility to accurately operate a 10-key by touch
preferredAbility to promote good communications and teamwork with
staff, maintain excellent relations with customers, other departments
and physician staff. Function in a high volume environmentAbility
to operate telephones, calculators, copiers, and archiving
equipmentKnowledge of payer requirements and EOBs/remittance
advices/vouchersComputer literate. Mentally flexible and able to
learn new computer applications and software.
