CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER SUPERVISOR

SALARY $46,176 - $68,931 annualized.
EXPERIENCE Requires two years of experience supervising a public service counter and a bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer operation are essential. Knowledge of City of Phoenix Services such as: water bill payments, business license renewals, plan review, code violations and enforcement, quarterly sales tax returns, and public record requests is preferred. Supervisory experience over a cashiering, banking or other payment processing system function and the ability to communicate fluently in Spanish are highly desirable. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
DUTIES This is a new position with the City of Phoenix and will locate in the new Pecos Park Community Center in Ahwatukee, which is scheduled to open in December 2006.
Supervises a cashier counter, coordinates and resolves issues, handles the complex technical problems and customer inquiries in the Customer Service Center; interacts with various departments to resolve issues related to processing payments for various City services; assists customers in use of the phoenix.gov Internet site to access various City services and information; and completes various activity reports or other special projects. Currently there is one vacancy in the Public Works Department.
ALSO REQUIRED All positions in this classification require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess an appropriate valid Arizona driver's license, possess personal insurance coverage, and have an acceptable driving record. Some positions to satisfy the background standards appropriate to the hiring department. The background standards may include a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background check. Employees in this class who are skilled in a second language may be called upon to utilize that skill in the routine performance of their duties.
RESIDENCE Maricopa County residency is required within 24 months after the date of hire and must be maintained.
