Business Office Manager for ASC - ParkCreek
Outstanding opportunity for a new freestanding, fully licensed, multi-specialty AMBULATORY SURGICAL CENTER located in Coconut Creek, Florida (Just south of Palm Beach County in Northern Broward County, very close to Parkland border).
The ParkCreek ASC is a privately-owned partnership comprised and owned by doctors from all surgical specialties except for opthalmology, and is not part of any hospitals or chains of ambulatory surgery centers.
The ParkCreek Surgery Center, which is an indirect affiliate of the Management Company for the Weston Outpatient Surgical Center, is a new ASC that is anticipated to become operational on or around mid-August, 2006, with 8 operating rooms. It will become accredited andMedicare certified.
As noted, the surgical center is currently comprised of 44 equity doctors from all specialties except for ophthalmology, with a strong emphasis on Orthopedics, Pain Management, Gynecology and Gastroenterology.
Reporting directly to the COO/CFO of the Center, this highly visible “hands-on” Business Office Manager position has total management responsibility for Center’s business office operations, which include:
Setting & maintaining optimum staffing levels and recruitment
Staff training
Quality improvement
Policies and procedures
Patient scheduling
Medical records
Medical staff credentialing
Information systems
State reporting
Patient insurance verification
Charge recovery
Coding
Billing
Claim generation (both electronic and paper as the case may be)
Payment applications to include contract compliance so that payments received are at contracted amounts
Accounts receivables management
Appeals and collections
Manage care contracting
Procedure pricing
Reimbursement maximization
Compliance, analysis, submission of needed weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
HIPAA compliance
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will possess many of the following traits:
Expert knowledge of freestanding ambulatory surgery business office staffing, systems, finance and business services/billing, coding, reimbursement and receivables management
Knowledge of Advantix software helpful
Bachelor’s degree in a related preferred
Certified coder(CPC)training desired
Minimum five years experience as a successful business office manager or patient accounts manager of a licensed multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center or large muscular skeletal surgical physician practice, such as orthopedics, working in a marketplace that has heavy HMO and other negotiated contracts
Expert user of Excel, Word (or WordPerfect), with working knowledge of computers (Center uses Advantix)
Analytical, take-charge, self-sufficient, customer focused and leadership personality
