Associate Director of Admissions
Purpose of the Job/Principal Responsibilities:
The Associate Director of Admissions is responsible for the management of as well as the overall performance of the team along with being a coach, a motivator and a mentor to the 20 person Team. The goal of the ADOA is to instill a sense of team responsibility, team leadership and ultimately improve the student start rate through quality customer service, team performance and follow up. An integral part of the ADOA position is to coach the admission advisors and Team Leaders and ensure the skill development of the team.Typical activities for an Associate Director of Admissions include:
oManage Admissions Advisors and the day-to-day Admissions activities
oUse his/her expertise to coach team members and ultimately increase the teams overall conversion and start rates.
oProvide ongoing training for all team members (help) classes
oIn conjunction with the DOA schedule lead distribution to Advisors
oImplement and monitor student follow up procedures
oEnsure Advisor accuracy with regard to student status changes in Orion
oProvide support for the Financial Aid Officers and the Admission Managers
oMotivate and support team members
oKeep team tracking boards up-to-date and accurate
oUse metrics to analyze and improve team member production
oMaintain communication with your Executive Director of Admissions, Director of Admissions, management of Financial Aid and Academic Advising, the Director of Training and the Admissions Manager. Provide feedback necessary to improve the student start process.
oAchieve team performance standards and lead the team in the accomplishment of meeting assigned goals
oKnow, maintain, adhere and comply with all appropriate corporate policies, state and federal regulations and follow all Standard Operating Procedures
oMaintain knowledge of programs offered and take responsibility for keeping current with program changes and new programs offered
oParticipate in programs for self-improvement and professional development especially as it relates to coaching
oFacilitate inter-departmental communications to help create a positive, team-oriented atmosphere
oPerforms all interactions with the highest level of customer service and professionalism
oPerform various other duties as assigned by Management
REQUIREMENTS
Experience Required:
oProven success as a Leader on an Admissions Team
oMinimum of 1 year work experience as an Admissions Advisor
oPositive support regarding managerial decisions
oAggregate goal accomplished for current year
oProduct and procedural knowledge
oPositive attitude and willingness to help others
oSuccessful managerial experience of at least 1 years
oCapable of accomplishing multiple tasks within specific periods of time
Education Required: Bachelors Degree PreferredPosition Requirements /Scope of the Job/ Skills Required:
oMust be able to work the West Coast shift and periodic weekends if necessary
oAbility to answer complicated Admissions questions accurately and in detail
oAbility to deliver outstanding customer service by telephone, e-mail, and other media
Measurement of Success:
Associate Director of Admissions will be evaluated based on (a) ability of individuals and team to meet established performance metrics; (b) ability to produce daily & weekly team tracking reports on time and accurately (c) ability to coach, train and use coaching tools providing during training; (d) ability to work effectively lead a team, both within and across Kaplan University departments; (e) team retention; and (f) attitude and enthusiasm.Full time employees enjoy these outstanding benefits:
