Applications Administrator
·Installs, configures, supports, and administers business applications across the enterprise, encompassing development, test, and production..
·Monitors, optimizes, analyzes, and reports on system performance, workload, and stability.
·Troubleshoots and resolves problems related to applications architecture and deployment in conjunction with helpdesk, development team, networking team, and vendor.
·Provides technical support to development and business teams, and second-tier end-user support.
·Manages application configuration in accordance with corporate Change Management practices.
·Manages user accounts and authorizations, background processing, output devices, load balancing, and profiles.
·Plans and implements support packages, kernel patches, and version upgrades as required.
·Assists in designing and testing backup/restore and disaster-recovery strategies.
·Assists in design of logical and physical architecture and client strategy.
·Assists development and project teams in designing applications consistent with established architecture.
·Assists in server selection and capacity planning.
·Documents system landscape and administrative procedures.
·Performs client and system copies as required.
·Provides off-hours support as needed.
·Perform other related duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
·B.A. in Computer Science, MIS, or related field required.
Experience:
·Minimum 3 to 5 years of successful professional experience
·Previous experience with Windows-based applications administration in a production business environment
·Knowledge of Project Management concepts and Systems Development Life Cycle
·Familiarity with DB2 UDB, Oracle DB, SAP R/3 and/or IBM Websphere systems is desirable
