Application Analyst-Product Administration
This position is primarily responsible for leading, analyzing, designing, documenting program or program changes to meet technical specifications for new systems or modifications to existing systems having a broad perspective on multiple application/functional areas. The position leads design and supports the integrity and integration of application systems and data, working in partnership with the user/client community in meeting their business systems needs.Roles and Responsibilities Lead, specify, design, code, test and document computer programs using assignment-related computer programming languages, utilities, operating systems, databases and other tools. Specifically:
JAVA / J2EE development using IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer
WebSphere Applications Server environment implementation with JETS and STRUTS
COBOL (CICS and Batch) on IBM MVS environment
DB2 database experience
Conduct analysis activities, design application systems and integrate different computer systems.
Demonstrate full command of one or more platforms and disciplines, including, but not limited to, large processor, personal computer, database, network and client server.
Apply knowledge of corporate processes, services and products as it relates to assignments.
Apply knowledge of corporate computer applications and systems architecture as it relates to assignments.
Responsible for producing and delivering high quality, fully tested computer products and services on schedule, within prescribed resource limits, and in accordance with client requirements and departmental standards.
Lead medium to large complex projects.
Organize, plan, and coordinate the resources needed on projects by providing analysis, design, programming, and installation services.
Provide mentoring to junior staff.
Develops and carries out a Self-Development Plan.
Stay abreast of trends and new products and services in the Information Technology industry, and their application in our environment.Position Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree is highly desirable in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Engineering, Business or area of functional responsibility preferred, or equivalent work experience.
7 + years of work experience
5+ years COBOL language experience in a mainframe batch and CICS environment
3+ years DB2 database experience
Experience with LIDP’s Administrator system is ideal; experience with some life insurance product administration system required
Ideal candidate also has experience in object-oriented development, JAVA language, Xpediter testing tool
Ability to troubleshoot client/server application problems across multiple platforms.
Expert in multiple programming languages, development environments, debugging tools, testing tools, programming aids, system design tools, DBMS.
Strong experience with system development life cycle and project management principles
