Admitting Representative

Arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and admission of individuals who have hospital based outpatient procedures. ensures that the patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. Interviews incoming patients or representatives and enters information required for admission into computer database. Distributes appropriate information to ancillary departments. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities.
REQUIREMENTS
Six months registration experience or 1 year clerical experience in an acute care hospital Admissions Department preferred. Knowledge of government, managed care and third party payers a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills strongly desired. Current CPR required
