Coordinate local, regional, and national conferences related to aging. Must be able to travel out of town to host off-campus conferences and workshops.
Help prepare grant applications and project reports.
Coordinate travel and meeting arrangements.
Track reports and account balances for a number of grant-supported activities.
Maintain files, maintain contact with students, and proctor tests for Statistics, Research Methods and Program Evaluation courses. Follow-up with the student until he/she completes the course. Provide support for the Dean's presentations and participation at conferences and meetings.
Provide support for special projects in the areas of assessment, data analysis, evaluation, aging, and faculty development.
Prepare and edit letters, reports, and presentations for the Dean of Special Projects.
Use Internet to obtain information, communicate, and conduct PALS library searches.
Assign and supervise student employees.
Keep pace with changing technology by continually updating computer skills.
Other duties as may be assigned and/or necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications: - Two years experience in administrative support activity.
Computer skills required including ability to use: Windows, E-mail, MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Scanner, and Internet, as well the ability to learn the Banner administrative program and new software to enhance office operations.
Willingness and aptitude to learn statistical analysis software.
Outstanding grammar, punctuation, editing, and spelling skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required as well as the ability to interact with a wide variety of people (faculty, staff, students, foundation staff, and faculty at other institutions).
Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Presence to publicly represent the College.
Willingness to work flexible hours as required.
Sufficient manual dexterity in order to operate all office equipment, including but not limited to: computers, fax machines, copy machines, answering machines (AUDIX), typewriters, calculators and telephones.
Job functions require sitting, standing, walking and lifting light objects. Ability to perform all of the above functions during an assigned workday without significant risk of injury.
Good attendance is required.
