Job Description:
In collaboration with the Site Chiefs, plays a key leadership role within Emergency Medicine at all 6 Caritas Hospital campuses. This executive position is responsible for financial, administrative, operations and business affairs aspects of the Caritas Emergency Medical Group, Caritas Occupational Health Clinic, and Caritas Travel Medicine Center, including but not limited to: staffing, liaison with the billing company and hospital departments, strategic planning, computer systems, establishing standards for intra-departmental operations and procedures, accounts payable and report analysis, payroll and preparation and management of annual operating budgets. You will have direct and indirect responsibility for managing 81 FTE’s, including 61 physicians, 15 midlevel providers, and 5 support staff/professional employees. This position also provides additional oversight related to 40 per diem staff members. Responsibility includes oversight for annual budget exceeding $20 million.
Additionally you will provide executive leadership, in conjunction with Caritas Emergency Department Chairs, for planning and managing the administrative/business affairs of the department. Responsible for the department's business/strategic plan, development and control of departmental budgets, helping facilitate continuous improvements in operating efficiency, and coordinating departmental staffing activities.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
-7-10 years of progressive experience in health care management. Demonstrated ability to lead change and work collaboratively with others at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated financial (revenue cycle, expense mgmt. and budgeting skills/experience). Demonstrated commitment to the principles of continuous improvement and to the organizational mission and values. Demonstrated excellent communication skills.
-Strong exposure and understanding of billing and revenue cycle and coding
-Managing operations in an Emergency Department setting is a big plus
-In depth knowledge of Physician Practice side of hospital setting, health care systems, including but not limited to, insurance systems, policies and procedures as they impact on the department, patient flow and patient relations.
-Knowledge of insurance coverage systems, including, but not limited to co-payments, referrals, HMO, PPO and capitated products, preferred.
