DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This position performs and coordinates administrative support functions for the Memorial Union (MU) under the assigned area of Campus Programs and the Student Organization Resource Center (SORC). This position reports to the Program Director, MU Programs and Activities. General duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to: Financial Support: Assist with administering the finance and business affairs of the Campus Programs and SORC following all MU, University, and Arizona Board of Regents policies and procedures. Maintain proper accounting for Campus Programs and/or SORC in accordance with internal departmental and University procedures. Assist staff with the preparation of annual budget(s). Administrative Support: Provide direct, daily supervision of Campus Programs and SORC support staff, including both professional and student staff. Office Operations: Participate in and ensure efficient operations of all Campus Programs and SORC work team activities with particular emphasis on accurate documentation, ensuring efficient work flow and coverage of all office operations. Staff Relations: Assist staff with a variety of complex activities and tasks requiring a high degree of skill and judgment.
REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Business or field pertinent to work unit AND one year of directly related administrative experience; OR, Five years of directly related administrative experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated knowledge of standard office and administrative practices; accounting and budgeting procedures and techniques; ASU's Student Information System (SIS); travel policies and procedures. Experience in supervising professional and/or student staff; using a financial system in a higher education environment (Advantage preferred); using a human resource management system in a higher education environment (HRMS preferred); handling cash; preparing detailed financial reconciliations and expense tracking reports; planning and monitoring budgets; using Microsoft Office Applications(Word, Excel, and Outlook); working with a diverse population. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Experience in organizational skills with attention to detail.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Salary dependent upon experience with an anticipated annual salary in the $31,000 to $36,000 range. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with week-ends and evenings as appropriate.
