Serve as central contact for the MU and oversee daily operations of the Administration Office; Provide reception support, receive phone calls and greet visitors to the unit? ensuring coverage during absences; Respond to inquiries providing information requiring comprehensive knowledge of university and departmental policies and procedures; interpret administrative decisions and policies to other staff; Serve as liaison to faculty, staff, students, alumni and the general public in facilitating university and departmental programs, requests for information or complaints; Provide clerical support such as: composing correspondence, maintaining calendars, making individual and group travel arrangements, and maintaining the paper and electronic central files; Organize and schedule meetings; take and distribute meeting minutes; Provide general office support by sorting and distributing mail, preparing special reports, maintaining office logs (e.g., stamp, cart, lap top, and M&G) and print calendars for Mezzanine level personnel daily; Serve as main contact for MU-Administration's electric golf cart; ensuring vehicle is logged in/out appropriately, clean, and in good repair; Support other administrative staff by assisting with collection of fees owed for Event and Meeting Services, serve as back up cash handling support, completing absence reporting requirements for department and maintaining internal MU phone/contact lists; Support multiple administrators and complete special projects as appropriate; Plan and prioritize workload to meet set deadlines.
Four (4) years' secretarial/administrative experience; OR, Certificate in Secretarial Science and three (3) years of secretarial/administrative experience; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of: standard office and administrative practices; MicroSoft Office programs (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); travel policies and procedures. Experience: working in a university/college environment; providing customer service; working with a diverse population; coordinating meetings and maintaining calendars; taking and transcribing meeting minutes; supporting multiple administrators; and handling cash. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Evidence of organizational skills with attention to detail.

Salary dependent upon experience with an anticipated annual salary in the $28,500 - $33,000 range. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with week-ends and evenings as appropriate.

The Memorial Union Administrative Office is located on the Mezzanine Level of the building. It is not accessible via elevator. There is a climbing of stairs in this position.
